The Murmur of Darkness

The saga of a lost soul…

It was a soft murmur,

The voice was soft, as that of a loving friend…

It asked me to do a simple thing,

Join me, my brother; it said

Join me in the pit;

It is peaceful down here,

No worries, not the urge to prove yourself…

Just join all those who fell,

Crawl into the murky pool of your sadness…

Kill, kill all that is your heart, soul, and spirit;

Kill your clay form, it said!

Join us, brother. Be a brethren of the fallen.

Be proud to be one of us doomed…

It was a soft murmur;

Alas, it was profound, and a little poetic.

Epilogue ~

I loved its soft tone.

A tone that seduces me,

And silently I slit my wrists open…

Now I see the light.

It shines bright in the darkness,

The murmur suddenly rises in tempo;

I now know, the voice would kill my soul.

I am okay with it, as somehow I know…

I am dead within.

As dead as a broken soul could be.

Do not mourn me, my beloved.

Be happy that, I found my peace;

In the darkness of eternity.
